Req Number 141191Job Description'Performs infection prevention and control related activities within hospital. Supports management in implementing related patient safety initiatives.Job Responsibility'1.Performs hospital infection surveillance and risk assessment activities in accordance with internal and external guidelines; analyzes and interprets data to determine infection risks to patients, staff, and community.Investigates epidemiologically important infections, clusters, and exposures to identify sources.2.Reports findings to management and performs interventions, as directed.3.Participates in infection prevention orientation and regular in-services to hospital staff that address standards of care, infection risks, evidence-based practices, sterilization, high/low level disinfection, hand hygiene, instrument and equipment storage, etc.4.Partners with multidiscipline team members within hospital to optimize patient care and maintain/increase compliance with infection prevention and control practices.5.Proactively identifies and eliminates infectious risks throughout hospital.Facilitates activities that support hospital compliance with government and agency regulations.6.Assists management in preparation for external regulatory reviews to maintain related accreditation(s).7.Documents infection prevention related activities and creates conventional and computer-aided records and information.8.Performs related duties as required.
