The service portfolio supports all stages of the drug development process and all functional areas of bio/pharmaceutical manufacturing, including method development, microbiology, process validation and quality control.Job Summary: Eurofins Medical Device Package Testing team is recruiting a Senior Scientist to research, develop, and create test methods for mechanical testing of medical devices and pharmaceutical products such as pen or auto-injectors, catheters, sutures, and other products. Candidates will possess deep understanding of mechanical testing systems as well as good understanding of test fixtures needed for mechanical testing. This role will require a strong analytical mind to understand and interpret the data being generated.Essential Job Functions:

Execute test methods and protocols in the evaluation of medical device packaging materials, components, and systems.

Able to read and comprehend company procedures, packaging specifications and drawings, industry test methods, government regulations, technical journals and scientific literature.

Able to seek out information from external sources in order to expand knowledge base.

Able to organize and clearly write business correspondence and technical reports.

Able to comprehend and use computer-controlled laboratory equipment.

Able to Interface with other departments within the company

Assist with testing equipment calibration and maintenance.

Able to mentor and grow into a leadership position.

Works in a safe and efficient manner

Weekly cleanup of the testing center

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, mechanical engineering, or related degree concentration.

5 years of experience with mechanical testing equipment like Instron, Zwick, Admet, or other Universal Testing Machines.

Knowledge of ISO, ISTA, and ASTM package performance test methods.

Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP).

Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and others).

Highly self-motivated, quality focused, and detail oriented

Tactical and Task Oriented

Good customer service focus

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
