Auto Technician (Mechanic C Level, B Level) 2G,(Smog Tech) a plus:
Auto Technicians provide quality services to customer vehicles in the areas of inspection, diagnosis and repair utilizing the expertise attained through ASE Certifications and/or years of automotive repair experience. A qualified mechanic minimizes customer complaints through the provision of thorough yet time-effective repair services. They are able to work independently of others, while also being able to work collaboratively at times with peers. They assist in ensuring that proper inventory is kept at the shop, that shop equipment is maintained in top working condition, and adheres to shop safety and environmental practices. Operates vehicles safely and responsibly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES NOT ALL REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED:
Test drive vehicles and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
Communicate with Service Manager to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups.
Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine cooling, and electrical systems.
Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors. Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies, such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.
Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Repair or replace parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
Repair manual and automatic transmissions.
Keeps company equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Must attend all safety training and staff meetings arranged by management.
Must follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, rules and regulations without fail.
Must follow all company policies and procedures without fail.
Must be flexible with work hours, days off and locations as assigned by management.
Must communicate and work effectively with customers, coworkers and management
Competitive Salary pay based on experience

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
