Medical Intake Coordinator
The intake coordinator is a front-desk individual responsible for the admission and registration of incoming patients, and they are often the first employee patients encounter. Work Nature: take entry of the patients for appointments, medical procedures and admitting the patients, routine tasks involves interviewing patients, entering data into the computer, receiving phone calls and enquiring to insurance service providers and companies. Work hours may vary depending on the need. Major Areas of Accountability
An intake coordinator has to carry out certain responsibilities which include:
Managing and performing timely intake processes on referrals including completion of the referral page and family details page if applicable
Providing assistance in tracking enrollment and supervising timelines by considering federal guidelines, completing various reports and forms, drafting mails and letters as well as resource materials to the families of the patients
Creating and maintaining database for well-organized assortment and retrieval of patients and line up details for outside agencies and internal staff
Maintaining organizational system and filing for supervisors
Participating in team meetings, handling correspondence, sharing meeting responsibilities, responding to routine requests, and assisting with the collaboration of professional learning and professional development
Request details from outside agencies for assisting the patients' families
Ordering assessment and instructional equipment, supplies and materials for the staff in case of the absence of primary concerned person. Must have experience as a Medical intake coordinator/scheduler.
