Quality Control Technician

We are proud to offer a contract-to-hire opportunity to work as a QC Lab Tech located in Dallas, GA .Pay: $18/hr-$20/hrShift: Monday-Friday, 2nd shift, 3:30pm-12amSummary:This position is responsible for safely and efficiently executing the daily functions of the Quality Control Department to ensure all raw materials used in the processes meet the company specifications and to ensure all finished goods meet product expectations for shipping.Responsibilities/Key Processes:
Organize and prioritize workload, perform routine and non-routine tests, and support the QC laboratory in testing all samples.
Coordinate and test raw materials and finished products daily based on backlogs and customer shipment schedules.
Communicate sample testing backlog to co-workers and Manager, and work schedules including weekends to avoid excessive backlog.
Utilize knowledge of test methods, processes, and laboratory equipment for raw materials, liquids, and finished products.
Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on all laboratory equipment.
Communicate nonconforming products via the "Questionable Material Form," tag nonconforming products with a "Hold" sticker, and re-test batches if necessary.
Accurately record and report test data in the laboratory database system (Infinity QS) for real-time SPC charting and analysis. Notify Management of unusual trends.
Participate in lab coverage and internal/external audits.
Provide training and support to QC personnel as needed.
Maintain a clean and professional laboratory environment.
Assist in collecting routine and non-routine product samples/data for external requests.
May require travel to support QC testing at other plants.
Adhere to good laboratory housekeeping practices, including daily cleaning of workstations, sweeping, and trash disposal.
Skills/Attributes Required:
0-2 years of Quality Control experience preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to recognize issues and recommend improvements.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control preferred.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong customer focus and teamwork skills.
Ability to multi-task and follow directions clearly.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent with Laboratory Experience.
Associate’s Degree.

QC related quality defects in the field.
Efficient coordination and performance of multiple/concurrent tasks.
Adherence to quality requirements and procedures.
Accurate record keeping and data entry.
Identifying trends in control charts and notifying Management of changes.
Effective communication of important information to Management.
Consistent attendance and time keeping.
