To achieve this mission, HPARD is seeking Park Maintenance Aide Position to join its Greenspace Maintenance team.The potential candidate will play a key role in the following duties:
Maintain Park grounds by picking up litter and debris.
Performs basic cleaning of park facilities and monitors supplies in restrooms.
Report any problems or hazardous conditions to designated authority.
Perform additional assignments as required.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL
WORKING CONDITIONS There are routine exposures to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions. The position may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Very fundamental levels of ability to read, write and follow simple oral instructions as might normally be acquired through up to 8 years of formal schooling. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSNo experience is requiredLICENSE REQUIREMENTSMust have a valid driver's license and comply with the City of Houston's policy on driving (A.P. 2-2). PREFERENCESApplicants who can work Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, and Holiday shifts. Also, preference will be given to those applicants that have experience in grounds maintenance and applicants who have a valid Texas Class C driver's license.Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
