Job Description: Shop Foreman - Overhead Door Company

As a Shop Foreman, you will oversee daily operations in our overhead door production facility. Your primary responsibility is to ensure efficient production, maintain quality standards, and manage a team of skilled workers.

Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Scheduling:

Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer deadlines.

Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity.

Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed.

Team Management:

Lead and supervise a team of production workers.

Provide training and guidance to ensure skill development.

Motivate and inspire the team to achieve production goals.

Address performance issues and implement corrective actions.

Quality Control:

Enforce strict quality control standards.

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications.

Identify and resolve quality issues promptly.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials and finished goods.

Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed.

Optimize inventory levels to minimize waste and storage costs.

Equipment Maintenance:

Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment.

Schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures.

Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.

Promote a safe work environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a shop foreman or supervisor in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the garage door industry.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

High school diploma or equivalent.
