Sous Chef/Assistant kitchen manager
Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse, Philly's best BBQ restaurant and Southern catering kitchen is seeking a Sous Chef/Assistant kitchen manger to join our team. This is a hands on cooking/teaching and training position. We are a scratch kitchen and would like someone who has ideas and are able to implement these ideas into consistent processes, ensuring every product meets Sweet Lucy’s standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Able to cook from scratch, and have high quality standards.
reliability and punctuality are essential.
Handle raw meat according to safety guidelines.
Follow instructions accurately, accept feedback constructively, adhere to recipes, and work independently after a
training period.
Able to train and encourage other employees
Maintain high standards of quality control and attention to detail.
Manage loading/unloading of smokers, coolers, and dry storage, check in orders, package products, and assist with
catering needs.
Comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Perform tasks with precision, speed, and accuracy.
Work well under pressure to meet production schedules and food display timelines.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Have at least 3 years scratch cooking experience
Have at least 2 years management experience
Physical Requirements:
Stand for the entire shift. This is a hands on position, not much office work
Must be heathy and reliable
Frequently reach, bend, and stoop.
Lift minimum of 50 lbs.
