Analyzer TechnologistWe are looking for an Analyzer Technologist to join our Geismar team.Come create chemistry with us!An Analyzer Technologist provides expertise to the site in the field of analytical instrumentation. This position is responsible for design and/or design review, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining on-line analyzers in the field. The objective is to ensure that systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, and safely to regulatory and BASF standards. This position also provides secondary troubleshooting and mentoring to other analyzer technicians on site.As a Analyzer Technologist, you create chemistry by
Promote safety by ensuring that all safety rules are followed, promoting safety programs and behavior, ensuring Analyzer Group personnel are aware of and employing safe work practices, and practicing safety and housekeeping in the performance of job duties.
Support projects by assisting in designs, obtaining quotes, reviewing packages, attending factory acceptance tests, installation assistance, commissioning, and documentation.
Assist in the development of personnel by
Providing tier 2 troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on analyzer repair/reliability including emergency work reviews
Assisting in recommending training and development options for in-house analyzer resources
Mentoring and providing / coordinating technical training and knowledge transfer to analyzer group personnel
Drive continuous improvement by
Identifying opportunities for sample system and analyzer improvements
Participating in the bad actor program, conducting root cause failure analysis, and creating action plans
Supporting the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve asset effectiveness.
Demonstrate analyzer health by performing statistical analysis and providing feedback, managing obsolescence, and conducting periodic review and creation of analyzer methods, models, standards, procedures, and guidelines
If youMinimum Requirements: 10 years of analyzer or instrumentation experience OR a Bachelors of Science or Engineering with 5 years of analyzer or instrumentation experience.Preferred experience in some or all the following areas: construction, installation and/or field maintenance of online instrumentation, control and electrical systems, project management, engineering drawing creation and review, experience with factory acceptance testing for new equipment desired.Create your own chemistry with you@BASFAt BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
