Pipelayer - Water & Sewer (Agua y Sewer)
The Pipelayer will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, and ensure smooth operation of those systems. Concrete forming/finishing knowledge is a plus and the ability to operate light equipment is valued.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Locate existing underground utilities by hand digging (potholing)
Install underground waterlines, sanitary sewer lines and storm sewer lines.
Backfill waterlines, sanitary sewer lines and storm drain lines utilizing vibratory plates, tampers, (jumping jacks) and remote-controlled trench compactors.
Plans, prepares, installs, and maintains piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
Consults blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
Welds, cuts, bends, threads, solders, and fits pipes.
Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cuts or bores holes prior to project.
Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA and OSHA requirements.
Inspects pipes, testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
Complies with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
Maintains records, including safety logs and inspection details.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Safety:
Promote, execute, and adhere to SSP safety program.
Wear the required PPE.
OSHA 10-hour safety training (preferred) but can be obtained upon hire.
Attending regular safety training.

Knowledge of hand and power tools utilized for underground pipe installation.
Ability to use a variety of tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
Understand the pipe installation process.
Perform testing procedures.
Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to pass background check to work on the military installations.
Education and Experience:
2 years prior experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and stretching to install and repair pipes and pipe fittings.
Physically able to twist, scoop, bend, kneel, ascend ladders, descend ladders, and walk on uneven ground. Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs.
Must possess visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.
SSP Industries está buscando Pipelayers con experiencia experimentada para nuestra división de servicios públicos subterráneos.
Pago entre $21 hasta $25 la hora dependiendo de la experiencia y habilidades pasadas o recientes en agua y alcantarillado / tuberías. El conocimiento de conformado / acabado de concreto es una ventaja y se valora la capacidad de operar equipos livianos. La semana laboral de SSP es de lunes a viernes con fines de semana libres. Cualquier fin de semana / emergencia después del horario laboral se paga a una tarifa más alta. Un promedio de 10 horas por semana de horas extras está disponible.
FUNCIÓN Y RESPONSABILIDADES
Localizar los servicios públicos subterráneos existentes mediante excavación manual (espeleología)
Instalar líneas de agua subterráneas, líneas de alcantarillado sanitario y líneas de alcantarillado pluvial
Líneas de agua de relleno, líneas de alcantarillado sanitario y líneas de drenaje pluvial utilizando placas vibratorias, sabotajes (gatos saltadores) y compactadores de zanjas controlados a distancia
Trabajo general y otras actividades de construcción según lo asignado.
SEGURIDAD
Promover, ejecutar y adherirse al programa de seguridad SSP.
Use el EPP requerido
Capacitación de seguridad de 10 horas de OSHA (preferida) pero se puede obtener al momento de la contratación
Asista a capacitaciones de seguridad regulares.
CALIFICACIONES Y REQUISITOS DE EDUCACIÓN / HABILIDADES PREFERIDAS
Asistencia puntual y confiabilidad
Conocimiento de herramientas manuales y eléctricas utilizadas para la instalación de tuberías subterráneas
Físicamente capaz de torcer, recoger, doblar, arrodillarse, subir escaleras, descender escaleras y caminar sobre terrenos irregulares.
Capaz de trabajar bien con otros
Licencia de conducir válida
Debe poder pasar la verificación de antecedentes para trabajar en instalaciones militares
