As a Dining Room Supervisor, you will be responsible for creating a safe, comfortable and pleasant dining experience for the residents at Sierra Del Sol. This position leads and directs the front-of-the-house staff and dining room service for all meals and ensures meals are served in accordance with Cascade Living Group policies and procedures, ensuring that 5-star quality food service is provided at all times. You will also be responsible for assisting the food & dining director, ensuring that standards of dining service are consistently attained.

What Cascade Living and Sierra Del Sol look for in a Dining Room Supervisor:

Relevant work experience (3+ years preferred) as Maitre D’ or lead waiter with knowledge or restaurant front-of-the-house service and plate presentation.

ServSafe Certification.

Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Must have basic reporting and organizational skills.

Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.

Ability to hire, train and manage food service personnel, and provide effective work direction.

Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.

Knowledge of culinary terminology and industry dining service standards.

What you can expect to do as a Dining Room Supervisor for Sierra Del Sol:

Supervise all dining service activities in the community’s main dining room, private dining rooms, living room, auditorium, assisted living and memory care dining rooms, and room service.

Manage dining service within budgetary guidelines while maintaining, or exceeding, CLG hospitality and service standards.

Plan, organize, schedule and coordinate all activities in the community’s dining areas (IL, AL, and memory care).

Manage the daily operations of the community’s dining areas to meet or exceed CLG hospitality and service standards; meet & greet all residents and guests, and assist them with any requests and suggestions.

Supervise all service procedures, service timing and pick-up procedures; establish and manage clearing procedures in all dining areas for china, glass and tableware to minimize breakage and food waste.

Communicate with food production staff regarding resident/guest attendance percentages and menu usage factors.

Responsible for conducting taste panel and stand-up with dining room staff prior to all meals (tasting of menu items, review of ingredients of each menu item, and dining room and uniform check).

Daily evaluate food presentation and service in all service delivery areas, dining rooms (IL, AL, MC), as well as tray delivery; identify any positive and/or negative trends in food delivery and effectively communicate them to appropriate department heads and dining room staff.

Responsible for coordinating all banquet and meal functions and communicating requirements to all respective departments.

Maintain an inspection program to ensure that all dining areas meet or exceed CLG’s sanitation and facilities management standards; inform appropriate engineering staff personnel immediately of any damaged or broken equipment.

Practice and observe all safety rules and regulations and encourage dining staff to do the same; promote accident prevention awareness, programs, meetings and goals among dining staff.

Managing costs Assist food & dining director in the development of operating budget items related to dining areas, working within the community and food and beverage guidelines.

Maintain labor distribution summary data for each period.

Manage labor hours to budget; responsible for tracking and recording all costs relating to dining service; monitor weekly costs utilizing CLG’s food & dining reporting system.

Responsible for food & dining small ware inventory.

Manage dining service costs and purchases within community and department guidelines.

$16.75-$17.30/hr
