Warehouse Help Part-time/Evenings Local Foods
We are seeking a part-time member of our Logistics Team to assist with warehouse and distribution activities, based in the New York metro area. The bulk of the responsibility for this position are warehouse shifts that occur from 4-9 PM on Monday and Thursday evenings at Hunts Point in the Bronx. The most successful individuals in this position have been those with flexible schedules – gig workers, artists, musicians, etc. Logistics operations are dynamic so there are opportunities to pick up shifts that may require longer hours and take you out of the city to our farmers, producers and customers. With that, we are also quite flexible for you to take time off to pursue your ambitions and aspirations.
The ideal candidate for this position is a certified forklift operator and has previous experience with warehousing equipment and safety – pallet jacks, clampers, lifting heavy milk crates, building and wrapping orders. A valid driver's license and experience with a box truck and navigating city traffic is a huge plus! We are willing to train the right candidate with the desire to stay on and learn the trade. If you are interested in local food distribution, this could be the right opportunity for a candidate to grow with the company as our operations expand.
The starting rate for this position is $20-25/hourly, depending on experience. This position will be also eligible to receive quarterly and annual bonuses based on performance and attendance record.
To apply, please send your resume, and include a brief response (a couple of sentences) on the following points, either in the form of a cover letter or the body of an email:
What is your general availability? Are you regularly available for Monday and Thursday shifts beginning at 4 PM in the Bronx?
What is your previous experience with warehousing operations and equipment – pallet jacks, forklift, clamper, etc.?
