Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in FARMINGTON, New Mexico, for a Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director. This role is critical to our operations, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of payroll, maintenance of payroll records, and compliance with applicable laws. The successful candidate will also provide leadership and training to our payroll team and serve as the key point of contact for HR, finance, and employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.Responsibilities Oversee and manage the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll. Serve as a liaison between HR, finance, and employees for payroll-related inquiries. Provide training and support to the payroll staff, fostering a positive work environment. Ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll tax laws. Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently. Generate and verify payroll reports out of the payroll system. Reconcile payroll bank account and handle returned checks or direct deposits. Set up garnishments and levies, performing necessary communications for garnishment-related matters. Provide and prepare necessary training materials for employees and leaders for payroll-related purposes. Maintain confidentiality due to the nature of the job. Requirements Bachelor's degree Accounting or HR or Business required Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience in a Payroll Supervisor role or similar. Proficiency in handling overtime and wages is required. Candidates should be adept in managing special payroll deductions. Experience in paycheck distribution and management is essential. Familiarity with the Workday platform will be advantageous. Applicants should have comprehensive knowledge of payroll taxes. Understanding of local payroll tax compliance is necessary. Experience in payroll tax reporting is a must. Applicants must have a solid grasp of accounting principles.
