Accounting Clerk
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in Countryside, Illinois for an Accounting Clerk. The role is within a small accounting firm that provides outsourced department services to a government unit. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be performing day-to-day accounting tasks such as utility billing and payment processing. Your work station will be an office setup with a counter space. Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, focusing on utility billing and payment processes. Use various software to record accounting transactions accurately. Provide customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Use Microsoft Office, particularly Word, to draft letters and other communication materials. Learn and adapt to new processes and systems as necessary. Handle cash transactions, recording them accurately, and providing change when necessary. Utilize your skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Billing. Leverage your experience with Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Maintain an organized and efficient work environment, ensuring all processes and transactions are recorded accurately. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar position. Proficient in account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial documents. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures. Familiarity with billing processes and procedures. Strong data entry skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy. Experience in invoice processing and ensuring timely payments. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets. Knowledge of Oracle financial software for managing accounting tasks. Experience with QuickBooks for managing and paying bills, invoicing customers, and conducting payroll functions. Familiarity with SAP software for managing business operations and customer relations.
