The team you will be working with is collaborative and team-oriented, and values how vital this role is to the success of the company. The position would be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement; however, there is a strong preference for candidates within two to three hours' drive of the corporate headquarters in Carthage, MO. So, what will you be doing as an Associate General Counsel – Regulatory & Compliance?

Provide overall strategy, coordination, and execution over regulatory and compliance-related legal matters

Provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice and guidance to management and various business units on a wide range of legal topics affecting the company’s legal and regulatory compliance, including, ethics and compliance matters, product regulatory compliance matters, and sustainability matters, among others

Monitor developments in relevant laws and regulations, identify potential impacts on the company and its business units, and ensure the company understands and complies with such developments

Manage external relationships with regulators, auditors, lawyers, consultants, and other external parties on regulatory and compliance matters, and represent the company in compliance-related inquiries, audits, inspections, and investigations

Oversee regulatory research and analysis in response to compliance inquiries and review responses to customers concerning the company’s compliance with various laws and regulations

Identify and assess legal and regulatory compliance risks and opportunities facing the company, providing legal advice to ensure they are properly addressed, and implementing appropriate controls and mitigation measures

Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations globally related to regulated products

Provide expert legal advice and guidance on, and draft, interpret, and update company policies, codes, and procedures

Draft, review, and negotiate various regulatory and/or compliance provisions, agreements, and certifications

Develop and promote regulatory and compliance best practices throughout the company

Provide training to the company on legal topics

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need

10+ years of relevant legal experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in-house at a public company or a large law firm.

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

Strong product regulatory or compliance background preferred

Active bar member in good standing

Proven experience as a legal counsel to business clients

High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism, and the ability to uphold and promote the ethics and compliance culture and values of the organization
