Description We are seeking an innovative and meticulous Design Engineer to join our team in Bedford, Ohio. In this role, you will be expected to conduct research, generate new product ideas, and improve the efficiency and overall performance of existing products. The role also involves collaboration with various departments and communication with customers to ensure the most effective and efficient design outcomes.Responsibilities: Develop and refine innovative product designs, considering factors such as cost, safety, legal regulations, maintenance, and environmental impact. Foster detail-oriented communication with customers to discuss design details and secure final approval. Collaborate with Quality, Sales, and Warehouse departments to align product design with overall company objectives. Conduct comprehensive research to understand the target audience and diverse product usage. Utilize computer software to create virtual models of different designs for visualization and further refinement. Evaluate manufacturing requirements by studying materials and production costs to ensure practicality and feasibility of designs. Present and demonstrate product prototypes to clients for approval, ensuring the functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing design of products. Continuously monitor and analyze existing products to identify and implement improvements for enhanced efficiency and performance. Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in the field to drive innovation in product design.Requirements Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Design Engineer or in a similar role Proficient in 3D Modeling and familiar with relevant software Skilled in using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop Experience with About Time software is preferred Knowledge of AB Testing procedures and implementation Ability to build and maintain Brand Awareness Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal Customer Service skills to effectively interact with clients and team members Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and its applications in design engineering Background in Industrial Design is an advantage Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design is requiredInnovation starts with people.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
