Café Stella, a cherished French bistro in the lively Silver Lake area, is looking for a meticulous and dedicated Prep Cook to support our kitchen team. In this role, you’ll play an essential part in keeping the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring ingredients are ready and workstations are well-prepared for service. This position is ideal for someone eager to hone their skills in a high-end, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and portion ingredients per Café Stella’s recipes and standards.

Wash, peel, chop, and slice ingredients for daily use.

Measure and mix ingredients with accuracy and consistency.

Set up and stock workstations with necessary kitchen supplies.

Assist in basic kitchen preparations, such as sauces and stocks.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and storage areas.

Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring proper ingredient storage.

Help with receiving and inspecting deliveries for quality and accuracy.

Support line cooks and chefs by prepping ingredients and supplies in a timely manner.

Complete daily prep tasks assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience as a Prep Cook or similar role in a restaurant kitchen.

Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food safety, and sanitation standards.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes precisely.

Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment.

Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and team spirit.

Culinary school education is a plus but not required.
