Irrigation Technician

Responsibilities:

Our team is seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to contribute to the evaluation, maintenance, and enhancement of in-ground irrigation systems, irrigation controllers, landscape drainage, and low voltage lighting on properties ranging from small yards to multi-acre residential spaces. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to recommend design changes for improved system efficiency, reduce water waste, and provide expert advice on irrigation system repair and maintenance. Additionally, the Irrigation Technician will be responsible for various duties as assigned.

Typical Requirements:

Reliable transportation for a Monday-Friday schedule, occasional weekends.

Consistent attendance and punctuality.

Adherence to company safety standards.

Ability to prepare estimates and recommendations using various computer applications and relaying these to the customer.

Proficient use of irrigation/drain cleaning hand tools and gas-powered equipment.

Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Attend training and safety meetings, applying acquired knowledge to day-to-day tasks.

Follow directions provided by the Division Manager.

Collaborate effectively within a team and work independently when required.

Uphold the company's best interests, maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Execute lockout/tagout procedures on small equipment.

Proficiently excavate, backfill, and compact trenches.

Cut and glue PVC pipe and fittings.

Run and connect irrigation wire.

Load, secure, and transport pipe and irrigation parts in work vehicles.

Program, troubleshoot, repair, and trace wires on existing and new irrigation controllers and systems for commercial and residential accounts.

Repair drip hose and fittings, adjust nozzles, and spray patterns on different types of sprinkler heads.

Maintain detailed records of irrigation maintenance activities, completed work orders, and inventory.

Communicate equipment, labor, and material requests, following the direction given by the Division Manager.

Assist with accident and incident reports.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience (a plus but not mandatory):

Low voltage electrical

Copper pipe

Backflow certification/repair
