Technician / Assembler
NIRA Innovations Inc - Technician / Assembler
This position is responsible for mechanical/electrical assembly, device testing, packaging and
quality inspections. Aid in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of component parts and
products. The Technician / Assembler will be required to apply best manufacturing principles
and practices to ensure the highest productivity and quality of work. Training and supervision
will be provided.
Specific Responsibilities:
Assemblers perform tasks that are necessary to the production process of assembling
plastic metal and rubber parts together to make small medical appliances. Once
assembled, Assembler uses company fixtures to program and test device, then Assembler
inspects and packages parts.
Follow detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as diagrams, specifications, and other
technical documents.
Complete daily assignments in assembly work in team environment. Assist and coordinate
with co-workers to achieve daily production and quality output and goals.
Implement work instructions to specifications completely and accurately in a timely manner.
Use tools to make or repair parts and products.
Keep a clean and tidy workspace.
Meet all safety requirements of the company and industry.
Identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
Use reason and common sense to solve problems as they arise. Ask questions and get
assistance as needed to perform job responsibilities well.
Multiple assemblers work in teams on production lines. All assemblers are cross-trained on
each area of work and assemblers rotate and share production duties.
Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements;
following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and
regulations.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating
needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Documents actions by entering information in production systems as needed.
Work with lead engineers to develop processes improvements in product assembly and test
with the goal of improvement cycle time and quality.
Requirements:
A High School Diploma or GED.
Attention to detail.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Skilled with mechanics.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision.
The ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as
diagrams, specifications, and other technical documents.
Knowledgeable in light manufacturing and assembly equipment such as PCB soldering
stations, wire cutters/strippers, etc is a plus.
Must be hands-on, self-motivated and able to work in teams and individually.
Has the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the company
