Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and systems used in the production process. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and automated systems to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. The Technician works closely with production teams to identify and resolve issues, perform routine preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
o Perform routine and emergency maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, conveyors, pumps, motors, clamps, saws, edge-banders, sprayers, etc.
o Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system failures, and execute repairs in a timely manner.
o Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working condition to reduce downtime and improve production efficiency.
2. Preventive Maintenance:
o Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment is inspected, serviced, and lubricated at regular intervals.
o Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
3. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
o Identify root causes of equipment failures and operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
o Respond quickly to breakdowns or system malfunctions to minimize production delays.
o Collaborate with production teams to address recurring issues or process inefficiencies.
4. Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, while working on or around machinery.
o Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
o Promote a culture of safety by actively identifying hazards and suggesting improvements.
5. Continuous Improvement:
o Suggest modifications or improvements to equipment and processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
o Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
o Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and systems.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
o Report major equipment issues, maintenance costs, and project progress to supervisors and management.
7. Collaboration and Teamwork:
o Work closely with production supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to ensure smooth production flow.
o Provide training and guidance to less experienced technicians when needed.
o Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving maintenance processes.

Required Qualifications:
· Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent (required).
o Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
· Experience:
o 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
o Experience with automated machinery and PLC systems (Programmable Logic Controllers) is a plus.
· Certifications:
o Valid forklift certification (we certify).
o Certifications in maintenance (e.g., Certified Maintenance Technician) or electrical systems are advantageous.

· Technical Skills:
o Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
o Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software programs used for maintenance tracking and documentation.
· Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when diagnosing equipment issues.
o Ability to work independently and manage time effectively under pressure.
· Physical Abilities:
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in physically demanding conditions.
o Comfort with working at heights or in confined spaces when required.
· Communication:
o Strong communication skills to interact with other team members, supervisors, and management.
o Ability to explain complex issues in simple terms to non-technical staff.
· Attention to Detail:
o Meticulous attention to detail in all maintenance activities, ensuring safety and efficiency.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in work documentation.

Working Conditions:
· The role requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and various mechanical and electrical hazards.
· Overtime, weekend work, and on-call availability may be required depending on production demands.
· Safety gear, including ear protection, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots, is required on-site.
