THE ROLE

DDB is seeking a laborer who wants to grow their skillset in the Construction industry. The candidate will have some general experience in the construction industry, basis understanding of construction practices and safety, as well as knowledge with tools and construction materials. We are looking for a go-getter, eager to learn, problem solver, and team player to join our growing construction team.

The Laborer reports directly to the Principal and General Site Supervisor, with support from

Senior Construction Project Managers. As a laborer your primary responsibilities include:

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Deliver construction materials and tools to sites

● Provide any labor as instructed by Foreman, Project Engineer and/or Project Manager

● Manage and maintain a clean work-site while complying with site safety regulations

● Knowledge of how to use tools/power tools correctly and safely

● Pick up tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards

● Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding and other temporary structures

● Load/unload trucks and haul/hoist materials

● May assist with controlling traffic

● Assist carpenters and other trades

● Willingness to learn and develop good communication skills

● Be on time, report tardiness or absence to project manager if unable to work

● Report problems on job site, missing or broken equipment immediately

● Perform other related duties as required

● Rough carpentry, framing, formwork, sheathing, siding, decking, roofing, trim, casework installation, door and window installation, rough and finish plumbing, rough and finish electrical, landscape and hardscape, heavy equipment operation, trailer experience preferred but not required

● Must have personal tools, including hand tools

● Must have reliable means of transportation, majority of our projects are based throughout East

Bay

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

● 2+ years experience in the construction industry

● Knowledge of principles and practices of construction

● Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications - preferred

● Experience with residential construction and unique boutique construction

● Knowledge of Cal-OSHA standards and safety compliance - preferred

● Capable of lifting 50 lbs. or more, climb ladders, reach overhead, squat, crawl

● Acute distance vision, close up vision, and depth perception

● Driver’s license and clean driving record required

● Must have reliable transportation

● Good interpersonal and communication skills

● Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

● Ability to collaborate with team members and be a team player

● Fun, positive attitude, and pleasant to work with

Job type: Full time position of 40 hours a week

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Compensation: $25- $30/hour, based on experience
