    Responsibilities

    The work performed involves providing substantive administrative services in a variety of program areas. The incumbent performs a variety of special assignments involving all aspects of the administrative management of the U.S. Attorney's Office and serves as a point of contact for program and/or administrative issues and requests. Duties require in-depth knowledge of administrative support services to analyze and implement improvements that will promote responsiveness and effectiveness. Some of those duties may include:

    • Maintaining and administering a variety of budget and financial management activities;
    • Administering a variety of contracting and procurement activities;
    • Analyzing the spectrum of support services requirements of the office;
    • Coordinating a variety of facility maintenance and/or repair activities for the office workspaces;
    • Promoting and coordinating an effective records management program;
    • Ensuring that personnel, records and the facilities are in compliance with applicable security requirements;
    • In conjunction with the Administrative Officer, plans and procures services and equipment, e.g., printing, reproduction, publications, furniture, equipment, office supplies, and law library resources;
    • Overseeing the timekeeping program in the office, ensuring timecards validation and certification occurs on a timely basis;
    • Coordinating or assisting with special events, press conferences, meetings or community outreach activities.

    Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

    Qualifications

    GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level.

    Specialized experience is defined as experience monitoring or controlling the budget and contracting and/or procurement activities; performing analysis of administrative programs and policies to determine the effectiveness or efficiency; and providing administrative support services in areas such as facilities management, records management, security, space management, and/or timekeeping and training.Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Accounting): a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years.Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
