Prep/Line Cook

Location: Bun Cha 1008, Garden Grove, CA

Pay: $16 - $20 per hour (based on skill and experience)

Schedule: Full-time, 7am - 3pm or 11am - 7pm.

Job Summary:

Bun Cha 1008 is looking for a reliable and skilled Prep Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is ideal for someone with at least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Prep Cook / Line Cook, you'll be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards for food prep, meat processing, grilling, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and organized. Bilingual in Vietnamese is a plus, but not required. Ability to speak and understand English is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Veggie Quality Control:

Inspect, wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables to meet restaurant standards.

Ensure all vegetables are fresh, properly stored, and ready for use in dishes.

Meat Processing:

Handle and process meats according to safety and quality guidelines.

Cut, trim, and portion meats for cooking as per recipe requirements.

Grilling Meat:

Grill meats to the correct temperature and specifications for various dishes.

Ensure grilling equipment is clean and well-maintained.

Cleaning and Organization:

Keep prep stations and kitchen areas clean and organized throughout the shift.

Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.

Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.

Miscellaneous Kitchen Tasks:

Assist with any additional prep work or kitchen duties as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.

Ensure all ingredients are stocked and organized for service.

Requirements:

- At least 1 year of experience working in a restaurant kitchen, preferably in a prep or line cook role.

- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.

- Experience with vegetable prep, meat handling, and grilling.

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

- Ability to speak and understand English.
