Position Information Posting Number 20113000 Position Title Coordinator of Stewardship FTE 1.0 Position Type Staff Department University Advancement Dept Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function About This Role: Implements and coordinates a broad-based strategy of donor recognition, stewardship, and donor communications. Publishes and distributes stewardship reports on endowed funds. Manages donor’s gift acknowledgements and proactively identifies opportunities to communicate with donors and alumni. Plans and executes cultivation and stewardship events on campus and around the county. Manages communication between development staff and academic departments, interdisciplinary programs, and research centers. What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:

Creating and distributing comprehensive detailed planning reports with specific action lists for each stewardship activity; activities include but are not limited to grand openings, luncheons, some fundraising, etc.

Execute time-sensitive tasks promptly to ensure the smooth operation of University Advancement activities.

Balance and prioritize fast paced multi-tasking challenges, i.e., those related to planned communications with donors, internal team members, colleague consultations, and problem solving/trouble shootings.

Manage on-going relationships with external constituents by connecting donors of endowed sponsorship and students during planned activities.

Apply expertise to stewardship activities for the entire campus and develop an ongoing professional training schedule to identify and implement industry best practices.

Managing donor engagement communication by maintaining timely transparent communication with University Advancement staff and donors.

Transparent communication with staff and donors, that involves providing regular updates, addressing inquiries and ensuring stakeholders ae informed about ongoing initiatives.

Keeping accurate and detailed records of donor interactions and sponsorship levels by managing monthly, annual and bi-annual activities.

Coordinating the relationship between Lamar University Foundation and TSUS to ensure effective collaboration and alignment of goals.

Apply best practices in stewardship and donor relations across campus

Key Competencies: (KSAs – Knowledge Skills and Abilities)

Understanding of event planning and project management principles.

Excellent time-management skills, along with strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in using communication tools and software.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Ability to connect and engage with donors and students and maintain long-term relationships.

Ability to apply best practices across the campus deliver training sessions and continuously improve stewardship efforts.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to move around the campus and attend meetings and events.

Regularly required to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.

May be required to stand occasionally for events and presentations.

Occasionally required to lift and carry materials and equipment.

Job Conditions:

Primarily office-based with full-time standard business hours.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events, meetings, and urgent matters.

Occasional travel may be required and frequent communication via email, phone, etc.

Bachelor’s degree required.

A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in fundraising, marketing, or donor stewardship is required.

Experience working with community and business leaders in business and social settings
