Chief of Police

City of Albia, IA (pop. 3721) is seeking candidates for Chief of Police. Salary is currently $75,000. Competitive wage and benefits package including, health, life, long and short-term disability insurance. Paid vacation, sick leave holidays and IPERS. Candidates must have ILEA certification, at least six years experience in a public law enforcement agency and two years in a supervisory position and one year at a command level, possess a valid State of Iowa motor vehicle licenses and firearms permit. Pass a physical examination including drug tests. Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or and Associates Decree with acceptable job experience is desirable. Residency requirement: reside within the corporate limits of the city of Albia within 6 months of day of hire or within a period of time negotiated with the city council. EOE/AA.
