Legal Secretary
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Legal Secretary in the legal industry based in Libertyville, Illinois. The individual we are seeking will be responsible for preparing and processing legal documents, managing schedules, maintaining files, and conducting correspondence. The workplace environment is fast-paced and requires someone who can manage multiple tasks at once.Responsibilities: Accurately prepare and process various legal documents such as complaints, summonses, subpoenas, and briefs. Efficiently organize and maintain legal files ensuring they are securely stored and easily accessible. Manage the attorneys' schedules, which include coordinating client meetings, court dates, and document filing deadlines. Maintain regular correspondence with clients, witnesses, and opposing lawyers, including answering phone calls and taking notes or messages. Transcribe court proceedings, meetings, or conversations from audio recordings or dictations. Oversee state filings in Lake, Cook, and Dupage County. Work within the specialty of land use law, specifically condemnation. Utilize a variety of software and tools including Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, CompuLaw, and others for client relations and case management. Conduct billing functions and briefing as part of the regular duties. Manage client relations in the consumer electronics domain. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary. Proficient in utilizing Aderant software for effective case management. Capable of using Adobe Acrobat for document management and editing. Familiar with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for property registration. Experience with Case Management Software to handle and organize legal cases. Ability to use CompuLaw for calendar management and deadline tracking. Proficient in managing billing functions accurately and promptly. Skilled in preparing and briefing legal documents. Responsible for efficient calendar management to ensure smooth operations. Excellent client relations skills for maintaining and enhancing client relationships. Knowledge of consumer electronics for effective day-to-day operations.
