Medical Records Clerk
Description We are in search of a Medical Records Clerk to join our team in TRAVERSE CITY, Michigan. In this role, you will be a crucial link between healthcare providers, patients, and other key stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication through the management of medical records requests and inquiries. Your duties will also encompass maintaining the confidentiality of patient information and adhering to regulatory compliance standards.Responsibilities: Facilitate the receipt, processing, and fulfillment of medical records requests from various parties including patients, healthcare providers, and legal entities. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical information requested, adhering to established protocols and guidelines. Deliver exceptional customer service through various channels such as phone, email, and in-person interactions. Handle inquiries related to medical records, including providing updates on status, request forms, and release authorizations. Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information in line with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Follow all relevant privacy and security protocols when handling, storing, and transmitting medical records. Keep accurate documentation of all interactions, requests, and relevant information in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all processed medical record requests. Identify and resolve issues related to medical records requests, including missing information, incomplete forms, and special handling instructions. Liaise effectively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely retrieval and delivery of medical records. Perform quality checks on processed medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards. Stay informed about updates in healthcare regulations and compliance standards, attending relevant training sessions as needed. Requirements Proficiency in Data Entry is required Ability to Perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently Strong Customer Service skills are necessary Prior experience with handling Medical Records is preferred Familiarity with the operations of a Medical Records Department is beneficial Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is essential Experience with EMR - Electronic Medical Records system is a big plus Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
