Position: Cabinetmaker and architectural woodworking specialist

Job Description: Dovetail is a high-craft general contractor with a custom wood fabrication shop looking to hire a motivated wood fabricator / cabinetmaker with twoto-five years of direct experience in a cabinet or furniture shop (not an on-site finish carpenter). Dovetail’s shop, Interbay Wood and Metal, supports architecturally significant residential and commercial projects, providing custom kitchens, casework, stairwells, soaking tubs, bars, furniture, doors, and other specialty objects. Our wood shop is FSC certified.

Candidate Requirements:

2-5 years of shop production experience.

Experience with competitive fixed-bid projects.

Highly developed craft with experience building a wide range of furniture and cabinet systems.

Refined standards for quality, craft, aesthetics.

Adept with table saws, panel saws, edgebanders, joiners, and planers.

Experience with CNC programming and machining is a plus.

Excellent time management, problem solving, planning, and judgment skills.

Excellent communication skills, including asking questions and finding teachable moments.

Must be team player with exceptional work ethic always looking to improve.

Excellent collaborator: ability to thrive and inspire fellow cabinetmakers.

Ability to establish priorities, goals, deadlines and meet them.

Ability to be flexible, shifting priorities and projects as needed.
