Our goal is to remain at the forefront of assessment and measurement efficacy within the education and ed tech space as it continues to grow and evolve.Position Summary:The IT Architect, Senior articulates the architectural vision, conceptualizes and experiments with alternative architectural approaches. This role is responsible for developing and validating the architecture and high level solution design against business requirements. The IT Architect, Senior works as part of a development team on methodologies, processes and best practices. This role helps teams follow the envisioned business and technology direction by articulating the architectural vision through the scope and lifespan of individual projects.Responsibilities:
Articulate and document a solution architecture vision
Create solution architectures that are leverage-able for future re-use
Actively seek opportunities to leverage existing IT solutions for new business offerings and services
Align IT solutions with business functions to improve flexibility, facilitate large scale reuse, and improve comprehensibility and visibility of IT’s value to the business
Partner with business, Research and other FCE and IT teams in designing IT solutions that match the needs of the business
Assess and formulate future architecture and technology direction for IT solutions
Aggressively identify enterprise IT application solution/technology initiatives that are of value. Collaborate with other architects and teams in execution of the initiatives
Review and approve project deliverables to ensure that they are architecturally sound and meet business needs
Work with Principal Architects to provide input and assistance from a solution design perspective to the RFP response team for cost estimation using Function Point or Use Case Analysis
Influence business strategy by explaining the capabilities of the architecture to management and the SBUs (Strategic Business Units)
Maintain a broad business understanding including customer and market trends
Contribute to future vision and strategy by conducting research and proof of concepts
Maintain a broad knowledge of new technical tools and trends, and apply those tools to improving business processes.
Map business capabilities and services to IT solutions, and plan IT solutions for future business opportunities
Lead the alignment of business strategy to IT strategy, in ways that adhere to IT maxims
Actively seek opportunities to leverage existing IT solutions for new business offerings and services
Continuously improve processes, technologies, applications to provide best value to business
Establish standards in best practice design patterns and pitfalls to ensure that IT solutions perform to expectations.
Partner with development teams to develop and enhance detailed application designs and interfaces
Facilitate cross team and cross component collaboration
Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function

Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:
Bachelor’s degree with extensive coursework in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Relevant Years of Experience Required:
8 years in IT.
Minimum 3 years in IT Architecture and application design.
Other Requirements:
Varied experience in following areas is preferred:
IT Architecture methodologies, standards and best practices
Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience
Software Performance Engineering practice and consultation
Rich and varied IT solutions design and development experience
Architecture principles and frameworks
