OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring a Project Manager to provide project management leadership for Veteran Education Benefit Tools steady state and adaptive maintenance under the VRE PSES program. This position is fully remote and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS).ResponsibilitiesGovCIO is seeking a candidate for the position of Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs BAM Portfolio. The Project Manager will be a hands-on leader who will be responsible for day-to-day direct oversight of 1+ application sustainment/enhancement project(s).

Responsible for the direct oversight of legacy system sustainment/enhancement/adaptive maintenance project, including the supervisory responsibilities for multiple lead roles.

Responsible for leading the team in requirements gathering, enhancements, releases etc. and ensuring completion of contract deliverables.

Ensure Agile/Scrum techniques are being utilized and the project is managed following an Agile Methodology.

Responsible for proactive risk management and ensuring all risks are escalated to the appropriate persons.

Engage with stakeholders at all levels, creating tactics to establish and maintain appropriate stakeholder engagement.

Engage with the team to ensure they stay motivated, proactive, and focused.

Ensure organized change management throughout the life of the project.

Ensure all project needs are met and escalate blockers to program management.

Participate in interviewing/hiring of replacement or new employees, where appropriate.

Responsible for the career growth and performance evaluations of all direct reports

QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's with 2-5 years (or commensurate experience)

Experience leading a team towards a common goal

Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to take a project from concept to completion

Strong problem solving skills

Competence in Microsoft Suite

Strong verbal and written skills

Positive attitude and willingness to step in, where needed

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience working with the VA

Experience managing a Scrum/Agile team with experience using Jira

Experience working with customer to establish requirements, PI Planning and seeing a project move through the software development lifecycle

Experiencing overseeing multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously

Experience supporting program goals

Experience collaborating with other project/team leaders
