Machine Operator (Furnace)Job DetailsJob LocationMurfreesboro Division - Murfreesboro, TN Position TypeFull Time Salary Range$22.00 - $24.20 DescriptionStart up, operate, and shut down furnaces to heat treat parts according to customer specifications, quality requirements, and production schedules providing maximum production consistent with acceptable quality. Key Responsibilities:
Set and monitor furnace processing parameters based on shop order and work instructions.
Notify production supervisor upon discovery of actual or potential equipment problems, processing problems or product quality problems.
Follow stated reaction plans to out of control processing parameters or furnace problems.
Maintain the furnace by adding oil, cleaning catch points, cleaning quench screens, and cleaning the IR sight port.
Respond to alarms and assist maintenance with trouble shooting and fixing problems as needed. Submit maintenance requests form in a clear manner so that it can be understood by others.
Follow schedule changes in order to meet expediting requirements.
Process parts according to the schedule, including maintaining the correct gap times as prescribed by the schedule.
If any items on the shop order need to be changed, modified, improved or clarified, bring these to the attention of management, using prescribed electronic forms of communication.
Prepare material for inspection; perform inspection, and record inspection results and production data on shop orders. Work with management in evaluating data for statistical capability. (Centering processes).
Follow stated reaction plans to all out of spec inspection test results.
Remove and transport (insuring packaging is suitable for transport), completed work to storage area.
Document and report any abnormalities to related departments.
Ensure all containers are 100% free of raw parts before loading heat treated parts back into them.
Ensure the furnace line (load hopper, load system, conveyors) is free of parts that could co-mingle with the next order of parts.
Assist in training others.
Maintain an organized and clean furnace belt furnace, make sure it is clean and everything is in its place before ending your daily shift.
QualificationsQualifications:
Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
Experience:
On-the-job training is required for this position.
Must be available for all shifts.
