Job Title: Payroll and Benefits SpecialistJob Description: As a Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for executing all aspects of payroll processing and administering employee benefits programs, as well as supporting certain ad-hoc human resources requests. Your primary duties will include accurately calculating and processing payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and effectively communicating with employees regarding their compensation and benefits. Additionally, you will be responsible for administering employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of payroll and benefits regulations will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of these critical functions within the organization.We look for balanced flexibility: This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the office (and additional days as needed).Responsibilities:

Execute payroll functions including payroll processing, reviewing, and revising policies and procedures and internal controls.

Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, overtime, variable commissions, deductions, and taxes for hourly and salaried employees.

Ensure proper systems are in place for accurate and timely pay, proper recordkeeping, and compliance with all regulations and tax filings.

Develop and report on various payroll analyses – e.g., attribution of different payroll components, bonus eligibility, etc.

Drive continuous improvement that decreases payroll error rate and improves service levels.

Assist the finance team in ad-hoc payroll reporting.

Ensure compliance with internal policies.

Serve as a liaison to auditors and state and federal agencies.

Develop and maintain effective communication regarding any changes that affect employees' compensation.

Partner with hiring managers to ensure proper onboarding in ADP for new hires and process terminations timely.

Maintain/update ADP for compliance needs, such as field team license information (scans of licenses, notifications of expiration, etc.), addressing any expirations.

Manage benefits enrollment and administration, including monthly invoice reconciliations.

Run yearly benefits open enrollment forum.

Oversee and communicate benefits eligibility for hourly team members.

Audit employee profiles to ensure all required information is complete and updated.

Track changes in payroll and benefits laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll and benefits issues and discrepancies.

Maintain a high standard of customer service, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

Self-directed individual with high throughput, standards of excellence, and good analytical capabilities.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.

Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.

Proficiency in payroll software (preferably ADP) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred.
