This will include coordination with a team preparing Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, and Categorical Exclusions, as well as public outreach efforts in compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements and best practices. The candidate would be given opportunities to develop environmental compliance and project management skills and learn from highly talented project managers and technical experts Our local headquarters is in Austin, TX and we have teams in San Antonio and Houston. What you will be doing:
Coordinate, collaborate with, and support ICF teams preparing environmental documents and impact analyses, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, technical reports, and permit applications
Attend meetings, track deliverables, maintain schedules, and coordinate with project teams
Work closely with project managers to navigate project development, coordination, and approvals for TxDOT, local municipalities, and other State DOTs
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
BA/BS degree in environmental sciences, or similar discipline.
1+ year professional experience with NEPA, environmental compliance, environmental consulting and/or related experience
What would be useful:
General understanding of environmental compliance
Familiarity with GIS and mapping skills
Experience supporting studies for TxDOT projects
Professional skills you will use:
Willingness to jump-in and learn new skills
Ability to study and interpret agency regulations, standard operating procedures, guidance, and the potential for regulatory triggers
Ability to learn, understand, and analyze transportation plans and engineering design
Computer skills should include the MS Office Suite along with excellent technical writing and communication skills required (A writing sample may be requested)
