Join our Guest Services team at Francis Ford Coppola Winery as the next Tasting Room Attendant, serving our weekend guests! As the Tasting room Attendant, you will provide exemplary customer service and guest experience filled with wine, food and adventure, located in the heart of Alexander Valley, Sonoma County. This person will promote wine sales, wine club and wine family enrollment, and the sale of specialty merchandise found throughout our Tasting Room shop.

The ideal candidate will showcase and educate guests of our diverse portfolio of Coppola and Delicato Family Wines brands, varietals and 100-year history in California winemaking. This position will bring passion and enthusiasm for building relationships with customers and taking the initiative to provide excellent customer service and exceptional hospitality.

What The Role Entails(Essential Duties):

-Provides customer service that exceeds expectations both in person and through phone conversation

-Greets guests and pours wines for tasting according to procedure

-Assists customers in wine selections and describes wines, winery history and provides general tourist information

-Handles routine POS transactions using Tasting Room software which includes operating the cash register, processing returns, discounts, employee purchases, etc.

-Meets established sales goals for wine and wine club memberships

-Stays current on winery/wine knowledge

-Assists guests to their vehicles with large purchases when necessary

-Handles UPS /FedEx wine shipping using Tasting Room software

-Cleans and stocks wine and displays

-Assists with set up and break down for Tasting Room events

-Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Tasting Room Manager

What We're Looking For (Minimum Requirements):

Education and Experience:

-Understanding of basic winemaking techniques/procedures highly desired

-Prior experience in customer service and operating a cash register preferred

-Must be at least 21 years of age

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Flexible schedule, including some nights, closing shifts and weekends are required

-Outstanding customer service skills and ability to work with the public as well as fellow staff members

-Ability to effectively communicate with diverse client groups

-Commitment to excellence and high standards

-Meets changing priorities in the workplace with flexibility and enthusiasm

-Knowledge of best practices and procedures for CA Responsible Beverage Service

-Professional appearance and demeanor

-Strong computer skills and data entry experience a plus

Working Conditions, Winery Environment & Work Standards:

-Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine

-May need to determine color, taste and smell of wine using eyes, tongue, and nose

Shift & Schedule Information:

This is a part-time position with required work schedule days of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (minimum 24 hours per week). These are eight-hour shifts starting at 9:30am to 6:00pm or 10:00am-6:30pm. Occasional availability needed for a closing shift from 11:00am to 7:30pm. This part-time role is also eligible for our Delicato benefits program. Additional details below

The Pay! Competitive hourly base starting between $18.00 - $19.00 per hour (DOE), PLUS additional opportunities to earn tips, sales incentives and bonuses, Company sponsored benefits, food and wine discounts and so much more!

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is a Non-Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $17.25 to $26.97. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
