Manual Machinist
Crank Works Inc, a worldwide leader in the power sports crankshaft industry, has an immediate opening for a Manual Machinist.
As a Manual Machinist, the chosen candidate will be modifying crankshafts and connecting rods for all types of powersports engines.
Main Responsibilities
Operating manual machine shop equipment – mills, lathes, grinders, jig bores
Making modifications to crankshafts – lighten, balance, stroke, add weight, and many others
Finishing operations on our line of premium billet connecting rods and crankshafts
Managing a clean and safe work environment by keeping all equipment clean and maintained
Tig welding skills are a plus not necessary we will train
Have general computer skills
You will be in charge of crating SOP's (standard operating procedure) for new jobs
You will maintain tooling and supply inventories : IE inserts , end mills , coolants , lubricants etc
Doing maintenance and preventivemaintenance to shop equipment
Job Requirements
Must have proven basic knowledge of machining principles and practices
Must have experience using precision measuring equipment (micrometers,calipers, dial bore gauges)
Must have knowledge of the powersports industry if you don't know the difference between a TRX 450 and a YZ 250 don't apply don't waste your time or mine
Must have good math skills
Must be fit to be on your feet all day, as this is a fast-paced job
Must have experience with manual mills, lathes, grinders, and jig bores
Must be able to transition from machine to machine to perform job duties
Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, and workorders
Must be able to work well with team members and follow instructions
Must be able to solve problems both individually and in a team environment
Must be self-motivated
Must be able to lift 75 pounds
Must be willing to learn new processes and machines, as we also have a full CNC shop, along with two CNC/manual machines that are in the manual shop
Required to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) – candidate will be working on race team equipment and industry prototypes
Have a desire to learn and grow with thecompany, and turn into a leader to assist us in reaching the next level
Ability to thrive in a shop culture and enjoy being in the power sports industry
Preferred Qualifications
Any CNC experience is a plus
Mastercam experience is a plus and can be factored into starting salary
