Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Property Accountant in SOUTHFIELD, Michigan, United States. As part of our team in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry, you will be tackling a variety of tasks related to managing the financial elements of our commercial property portfolio. You will work in collaboration with the finance team and property managers to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintenance of proper accounting records, and provision of valuable insights for decision-making.Responsibilities Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial properties Performance of variance analysis to identify and explain budgetary discrepancies Generation of detailed financial reports to present to management and stakeholders Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries for all commercial properties Review and reconciliation of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Compliance with accounting principles, policies, and relevant regulations Collaboration with property managers to develop annual budgets for commercial properties Monitoring of budget performance and provision of regular reports on financial variances Assistance in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections Management of lease-related financial activities, including rent collection and reconciliation Calculation and processing of annual operating expense reconciliations for tenants Tracking of lease expirations and assistance in lease renewal negotiations Support of internal and external audits by providing accurate financial records and documentation Compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations Staying updated on accounting standards and industry best practices.For immediate and confidential consideration please apply today. Proficient in analyzing Financial Statements. Demonstrated experience in Financial Statement Preparation. Proven skills in Budgeting and Forecasting. Familiarity with General Ledger operations. Experience in Variance Analysis.
