2025 Executive Associate Program - Commercial Loan Product Strategy
Overview:The Executive Associate Program is designed for 2nd year MBA students who seek to accelerate their career within M&T Bank. Program hires will undergo an immersive leadership experience designed to develop leadership competencies and strategic capabilities. Throughout the first year, the incoming cohort will be introduced to Program alumni, bank wide leadership, and collaborate with peers to drive change to support the vision and goals of the Bank.Department Description:The M&T Equipment Finance Product & Strategy team is responsible for developing and managing business strategy, product roadmaps, operating model and technology transformation initiatives across the $9B Equipment Finance portfolio of businesses. The team is made of product owners, project managers, and strategic initiatives leaders. An EA joining this team would work closely with the team and cross-functionally to support non-routine key initiatives. Supports design, planning and implementation for time-sensitive, critical, programs and/or projects.Primary Responsibilities:Upon joining the Product & Strategy Team Your responsibilities could include:
Support planning and implementing new projects, products, programs and initiatives to achieve short and long-term business objectives and strategic outcomes.
Lead effort to maintain project documentation. Develop comprehensive documentation that aligns with regulatory expectations as required.
Assist the team in addressing problems/solutions, risks and issues. Analyze information, determine feasible solutions, and articulate recommendations to project team. Apply critical thinking to independently navigate problems and issues.
Develop and produce basic ad-hoc and automated departmental analyses and reports, including workflow, project and strategic analysis and trend reporting.
Distill information and create an executive summary to drive action.
Adhere to all standards and procedures ensuring high quality work and that efforts are appropriately and accurately documented.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Completed MBA from an accredited business school.
Minimum two years professional, full time work experience.
Demonstrated leadership potential, as evidenced through previous work experience, extracurricular activities, or community involvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically analyze complex business challenges
Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines

Education and Experience Preferred:
Previous banking/financial industry/credit experience
Experience with financial, regulatory and/or process analysis
Strategic thinker; curious and innovative
Effective communication skills
Experience with SQL, programming and statistical software
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $171,000. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations.
