Experienced Automotive Technician at Agen's Automotive
Agen’s Automotive is looking to hire an experienced automotive technician to our team! We are a small family owned business that has been providing reliable repairs, and service to the people of Anchorage for over 50 years.
Pay:
$35 per hour
Hours:
- 8am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday
- Closed Major Holidays

Qualifications, experience, and capability requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong understanding of all mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic elements including but not limited to HVAC, - computer/sensors, electrical systems, engine/drivetrain, suspension/braking, emissions, etc. Ability to work on domestic and foreign automobiles.
- Proficient in using various diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
- Possession of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications or ability to get ASE certifications
- Possess your own tools/equipment
- Ability to drive a manual transmission (for road tests)
- Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, pushing, reaching)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and co-workers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to contribute to a positive work environment and get along well with others
- Ability to demonstrate great work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English.
- Basic understanding & efficiency while working on a computer
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check, drug test, or motor vehicle record report upon request
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer concerns and symptoms to identify the root cause of vehicle malfunctions
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems (scanners, multimeters, pressure gauges, etc.)
- Conduct thorough inspections of various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, etc.)
- Perform test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and diagnose issues
- Research technical information or refer to service manuals to solve complex problems
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, explaining technical issues in an understandable way. - - Outline necessary repairs with estimated costs, and obtain customer authorization before proceeding
- Document all repairs and parts used on service orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations
