Senior Innovation Engineer, WW Innovation Engineering

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Innovation Engineer to lead the application of automation into our WW (World Wide) Delivery Station Network. The successful candidate will be a member of the Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team and will be responsible to define, test, validate and implement various Robotics and Automation systems in the Delivery Stations network.This role requires experienced and entrepreneurial minded Engineers with combined robotics, engineering, planning and analytical skills. This individual will own robotics and automation implementation projects end-to-end and will partner with Robotics, SW Tech Teams, Process Engineering teams, Operations, Facilities and Engineering teams to effectively operate advanced robotics technology across WW Amazon's last mile network.Key job responsibilities Key partner to work closely with the Product teams and WW Engineering to drive customer (AMZL) requirements for implementing various robotics solutions in AMZL. Identify process paths to automate based on various factors; labor, cost, safety, performance, etc. working with Process Engineering and Operations partners Author business cases to introduce automation to the Delivery Stations network in EU to improve productivity Define pilot criteria and success metrics to validate prototype units Collaboration with internal teams to provide technical documentation such as product specifications, integration requirements, etc. Partner with Mechanical, Controls and Software teams to plan the technologies integration in operation Partner with simulation team for validating new ideas and concepts to automate manual process paths Contribute to design the Delivery Station of the future combining Robotics, Automation, IoT and Machine Learning disciplines.A day in the lifeYou will ideate and bring to life new technologies for AMZL. Your day could include: working with new vendors on developing concepts for AMZL with automation and robotics technology to being in the field and learning the challenges that associates face. You would write a business case and work with stakeholders to build a case for piloting new technology. You could dive deep into understanding how the tech influences AMZL processes and the associate’s lives. Eventually, you will iterate on your new ideas to decide for the business on GO/NO-GO for the new tech into AMZL. Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent industrial background
-5+ years’ demonstrated Engineering experience in an automation, robotics or manufacturing environment
-5+ years engineering project management experience
-Experience across the full project lifecycle; from analysis and design to implementation
-Experience with complex projects in operations, processes, or performance improvement
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
Experience with the project management of technical projects
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues, drive improvements, and implement preventive measures
Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously
Ability to support complex technical discussions with a variety of groups including software engineers, hardware engineers, technicians, and operators
Pragmatic and hands-on working style.
Experience in PLC programming
Experience with EAM Tools

The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market.
