Airport Maintenance Worker
The City of Modesto is seeking a dedicated Airport Maintenance Worker to perform specialized maintenance at the local airport, ensuring that the grounds, runways, buildings, and equipment meet FAA regulations. Candidates should have experience in building and grounds maintenance, with airport operations and maintenance experience being highly desirable. The Airport Maintenance Worker is responsible to perform specialized maintenance for the City's airport facility; to help ensure that the airport grounds, runways, buildings and equipment comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

Due to the volume of applications received, resumes will not be screened for the purpose of determining who is the most qualified to compete in the testing process. It is the applicant's responsibility to fill out the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application with complete information and adequate detail. Experience and Training Guidelines
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two years of increasingly responsible experience involving building and grounds maintenance. Experience in airport operations and maintenance is highly desirable.
Training:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.
A Class B California driver's license is required within 45 days of appointment. Failure to obtain this license may result in release from probation.
