Fort Wayne Housing Authority is searching for a reliable, skilled Maintenance Tech to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility. You will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs and cleaning to ensure that our facilities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts inspections of company buildings and grounds, parking areas, and sidewalks
Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
Repairs/maintains ground maintenance equipment & automotive/motorized equipment
Rotates every 7 weeks for after-hours emergency service
Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems
Conducts inspections of company buildings and grounds, parking areas, and sidewalks
Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills General passion for creative problem-solving
Applies paint, enamel, varnish, lacquer, or other protective or decorative material
Performs routine manual tasks, including lifting (up to 50lbs.), digging, carrying, unloading, and installing equipment, supplies, and materials
Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs
Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
Responds to work orders and completes all assigned work in a timely manner
Work Environment
Position generally works at the company’s properties, which may cause the employee to experience a range in temperatures/weather conditions.
This position may be required to work with contractors as well as Residents
Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent AND a minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction or building maintenance
Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s plan
