This includes processing payments received via mail, bank lockbox, credit card, and electronic funds transfer. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate payment application.Essential Job Functions:

Accurately apply customer payments received via mail, bank lockbox, credit cards, and electronic funds transfers to customer accounts based on remittance instructions.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments lacking appropriate application instructions, ensuring all payments are correctly applied.

Reconcile payments applied to daily bank deposits, ensure accounts are balanced, and promptly address any discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.

Respond professionally to written communications from internal and external sources, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to cash applications.

Meet company deadlines for month-end close responsibilities, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Assist in updating and improving documentation of policies and procedures related to cash application responsibilities, ensuring they are current and comprehensive.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1-2 years of clerical work & handling monetary transactions.

High school diploma/GED required (associate degree in a business-related field preferred)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and MS Excel.

Self-starter capable of adapting to meet fast paced and changing business needs.

Ability to function in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Able to work effectively with all levels of management.

Must demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
