Job Title: Groundskeeper/Maintenance Worker

Location: Kula, Maui

Overview:

We’re looking for a dedicated and reliable Groundskeeper/Maintenance Worker to help maintain our farm’s beauty and functionality. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, has a knack for repairs, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

O’o Farm is a diverse farm located in upcountry Kula, dedicated to farming and agritourism. The farm consistently produces coffee, vegetables, fruit and flowers with over 100 different crops in rotation and is sustainably maintained and naturally cultivated with a no-till approach.

O’o Farm offers a true farm-to-table experience with two distinct tour experiences: A gourmet Breakfast and Coffee Tour and a Farm-to-Table Lunch, both of which introduce guests to small commercial farming, organic farming techniques, native Hawaiian plants, beneficial insects, and crop management methods, and how the farm team cares for the ʻaina sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:

Grounds Maintenance:

Mow, weed, and edge lawns and fields.

Care for trees, plants, and landscaping, ensuring the property always looks its best.

Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper water flow and distribution.

Farm Equipment Maintenance:

Inspect, clean, and repair farm tools and machinery.

Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, tractors, and other farm equipment.

General Repairs:

Address minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues around the property.

Maintain the dining area, including tables, walkways, and seating areas.

Ensure fences, gates, and farm structures are secure and functional.

Waste Management:

Work on composting and recycling operations.

Ensure proper disposal of waste from the farm and restaurant.

Special Projects:

Assist with seasonal tasks, such as preparing planting beds or supporting harvesting efforts.

Support restaurant events by setting up and maintaining outdoor spaces.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Familiarity with farm equipment and tools.

Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working on a farm or in an agricultural setting.

Knowledge of native Hawaiian plants and sustainable landscaping practices.

Small engine repair skills.

Schedule:

3 days per week, with flexibility for occasional weekend work
