Dr. Bonda, in collaboration with Dr. Ueli Rutishauser, PhD, is studying human cognition and executive control using invasive and non-invasive electrophysiology as well as behavioral and computational methods.The Research Associate I will participate in ongoing research activities such as acquiring, processing and analyzing data, and reporting findings. The Associate will learn and subsequently perform a variety of complex data processing and analysis steps and complete experimental procedures to support ongoing research projects. The incumbent will assist Dr. Bonda in laboratory maintenance and will assist with preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Keeps accurate and detailed records of experiments and results, and assist in identifying and troubleshooting of unexpected results.

Orders laboratory supplies and supports laboratory operations.

Maintains lab equipment and related records and may coordinate use of lab equipment.

Assists in the operation of specialized equipment, as required by the area of research.

Orients research laboratory assistants or lower level research associates and undergraduate student researchers on day-to-day lab operations and routine procedures.

Observes and follows safety standards and procedures.

Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists the Pl and other laboratory members in management, processing, and analysis of electrophysiological recordings (EEG, spike sorting).

Assists with interactions with IRB and NIH.

Independently completes complex analysis procedures after appropriate training.

Uses, modifies, and adjusts MATLAB data analysis routines.

Performs spike sorting of electrophysiological recordings.

Processing and analysis of structural MRI images.

Maintenance of experimental records.

QualificationsEducation:

Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience and Skills:

One year of laboratory experience is preferred.

Research experience analyzing EEG data or similar required.

Knowledge of and strong interest in systems/cognitive neuroscience.

Research experience working with human subjects preferred.

Must possess excellent digital literacy, including ability to program in MATLAB or Python.
