Legal Assistant
We are an esteemed, small, fast-paced family law firm near the Ventura Superior Court. We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Family Law legal assistant to join our team. As a Family Law legal assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our attorneys and assisting clients in navigating the complexities of family law matters.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting research, preparing legal documents, organizing case files, and assisting attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information are crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from various sources
Prepare legal documents, including pleadings and briefs
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up to date and easily accessible
Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including drafting witness lists, gathering evidence, and preparing exhibits
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress
Coordinate with court personnel, other attorneys, and outside organizations to schedule hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
Assist in the drafting and filing of legal documents with the appropriate courts
Requirements
Experienced as a legal assistant or paralegal in family law a must
Excellent knowledge of family law practices, procedures, and legal terminology
Proficient in conducting legal research using various resources
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing legal documents
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
Proficient in using legal software, such as case management systems, electronic filing systems, legal forms, and Time Slips
