Active Directory Administrator - Lane Community College
The Information Technology Department at Lane Community College is seeking to hire a full-time Active Directory Administrator. The Active Directory Administrator’s primary role is to administer, modify, maintain, and configure our existing Active Directory environment.
Annual Wage Range: $69,000 - $101,191
Responsibilities:
Administer Active Directory and EntraID infrastructure across multiple campuses.
Troubleshoot/problem solve at a level with Collegewide implications.
Administer GPOs for security and access.
Administer Microsoft / Papercut printing environment.
Administer and maintain virtualized servers and services.
Administer ID synchronization between platforms (AD, EntraID, LDAP, etc)
Assist with enterprise desktop configuration and deployment.
Administer Office365.
Responsible for upgrading, backup/restoration, data integrity and disaster recovery.
Use best practices in design, configuration, and documentation.
Maintain, upgrade, and integrate multiple network operating systems and applications.
Responsible for Installation/Upgrades of software/firmware.
Monitoring and reporting of deployed infrastructure – capacity, performance, availability, efficiency.
Configuration and management of storage allocations and quota/access policies.
Ensure system security and system hardening.
Use critical thinking and decision making to analyze, evaluate, reason, and arrive at independent conclusions.
Troubleshoot complex problems at enterprise levels.
Maintain authentication and identity management mechanisms, provision user accounts, permissions, access rights and storage allocations.
Use best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Advanced and comprehensive knowledge of specialty areas.
Capable of substantial integration of tasks from other specialties to achieve expected results.
Understands problems from a broad, interactive perspective.
Can develop and implement information in new ways.
Demonstrates expertise using consensus building techniques to build understanding and cooperation to expedite work and achieve results where divergent opinions exist.
Work without direct supervision.
Participate in teams and committees supporting IT and college goals.
Plan and conduct server performance monitoring and tuning including software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and/or configuration.
Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of HIPAA/FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A two-year (2) degree with significant coursework in computer science, network/systems administration, or related field.
Three (3) years professional experience including any combination of directory administration (Active Directory, eDirectory, or openLDAP), server administration, server hardening, enterprise storage administration, server virtualization, backup administration, knowledge of change control processes and procedures.
