Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role primarily functions in the healthcare and social assistance industry and requires a high level of organization and detail orientation. The workplace is a large medical office setting where you will be pivotal in maintaining smooth operations and providing excellent customer service.Responsibilities: Accurately documenting transactions such as co-payments collection Utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to maintain and ensure the confidentiality of patient records Providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, fostering a supportive and welcoming environment Handling phone calls in a detail oriented manner, providing necessary information and directing them as required Utilizing Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, to perform various administrative tasks Scheduling appointments effectively and managing the appointment book Verifying insurance coverage of patients and obtaining necessary details Applying knowledge of medical front office operations and medical terminology effectively Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Applicant must have at least 1 year of experience in a similar role or healthcare setting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is essential Proven experience working in a medical office or medical front office setting is required Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is a key requirement Experience with patient check-in procedures is necessary The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-centric environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial Knowledge of healthcare industry, hospitals, and social assistance is expected Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality High school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in medical administration is a plus Must be able to multitask effectively, handle stress well, and adapt to changing situations.
