1st shift - 6am-2:30pm M-F

Hourly Pay Rate: $23 an hour

2nd Shift - 2pm - 10:30pm M-F

Hourly Pay Rate: 23 an hour + 10% differential

OT available after training (6 months)

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot and identify failure causes; repair or initiate the repair of failed items and perform recovery/corrective or preventive maintenance of vehicle and wayside systems, subsystems, and components.

Preventive maintenance, inspection, and adjustment tasks and procedures are well established and require normal supervision.

Incumbents will follow the direction of higher-level personnel in preventive or corrective maintenance phases of work.

Associates exercise considerable latitude and open judgment in the troubleshooting and recommended repair of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, troubleshoot and repair Central Control computer console, or Wayside systems, or vehicles and components as assigned

Inspect vehicles and related equipment to detect failed or improperly operating equipment

Operate trains, doors, guide way switches, and power distribution systems in a manual mode

Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems inspection following established procedures or other written or verbal instructions

Repair or replace defective parts or equipment utilizing manuals, drawings, specs, and other written or verbal instructions

Support recovery of malfunctioning vehicles from system as needed

Respond to system failures to recover vehicles and restore system operation

Respond to customer requests in a timely fashion

Assist passengers during emergency operations

Conduct thorough and complete preventive maintenance checks on vehicles, systems, and subsystems as assigned.

Achieve and maintain all functional certifications in assigned area

Continuous learning and progression through training program

Participate in training programs

Organizational Specification

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years experience as technician in automotive, transportation or manufacturing industries

Valid driver's license

Preferred Skills

Ability to pass federal background check, drug test and physical exam.

Responsible with attendance

Motivated to learn.

Training duration 4-6 months (depending on individual) before transitioning to direct employee

Additional Information

Upon offer, this role will be contingent upon completion of background requirements to include motor vehicle screening and a medical physical prior to placement.
