No interpretation of test can be given at any time in front of the patient.Qualifications:Required:
High school graduation with basic science course work or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Reasonable experience as an EEG Technician is necessary.
Basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the body is necessary.
Eligibility or certification by the American Board of Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologist is necessary.

Essential Functions
Apply electrodes to predetermined measured placements as to the International 10-20 System and check the performance of the electrodes.
Calibrate and adjust equipment to be sure it is in proper working condition.
Take standard recordings from patients in any condition.
Instruct patient on how to relax and cooperate for any type of electro-neuro-diagnostic test, reducing artifact as much as possible.
Perform special electroencephalographic tests to localize infarct-injury to the nervous system.
Monitor and record all unusual and abnormal physiological occurrences.
Monitor other vital signs such as eye movement, respiration, muscle and heart rate.
Perform brain-activating procedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep when not contraindicated.
Perform portable recordings in any such area as determined by the appropriate ordering physician.
Obtain and record any relevant information from the patient, or any part of the medical record.
Determine the cause of equipment failure, if any, and trouble shoot as needed.
Report machine malfunctions to IT team or supervisor as soon as possible.
Replenish supplies and maintain proper universal precautions.
Attend in-service training lectures and workshop.
