Deloitte Corporate Finance - Investment Banking Summer Analyst (Intern)Join Deloitte's Corporate Finance practice and accelerate your learning and career trajectory. As an Investment Banking Analyst Intern, you will work side by side with experienced and execution-focused investment bankers, as well as clients from a wide range of industries including consumer & retail, healthcare, business services, and global industrials. With a focus on Mergers & Acquisitions ("M&A"), our practice advises clients through critical stages of the transaction process and is intimately involved each step of the way. Even as an Intern, you can become a value-added deal team member offering meaningful contributions to the practice. The Intern program attracts ambitious, high-caliber candidates who are seeking responsibility and a unique introduction to the world of M&A. Many of our Interns return to the practice full time following the receipt of their undergraduate degree.Work You'll DoWorking closely with client-facing deal teams, you will provide recommendations that are aligned with an organization's business goals and overall strategic and transactional objectives. Constructing financial models to help clients assess growth strategies, capital structure decisions, and transaction alternatives will help you develop a comprehensive technical skill set. Concurrently, you will employ a number of core valuation methodologies to help businesses evaluate their worth in the marketplace and advise them on appropriate ranges at which to conduct transactions. Also, you will have the opportunity to learn how to appropriately position businesses in the investor community by articulating value propositions and anticipating potential concerns. Across these responsibilities, you will receive considerable exposure to senior bankers and clients as you participate in each phase of the transaction process.Regardless of project type, your work will require:

Ability to analyze companies from a financial, operational, and industry perspective and make recommendations aligned with business objectives

Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills essential to interacting with clients and teams

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/ responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Problem solving and critical thinking skills in support of both innovative and operational enhancement opportunities

Ability to collaborate and communicate across Deloitte team members and client stakeholders

Ability to identify, learn, understand, and implement new concepts, frameworks and emerging technologies

Ability to manage own personal and professional development; seek opportunities for professional growth and expansion of consulting skills and experience

A strong understanding of Windows Based systems and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

QualificationsRequired:

Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics or related field

Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment

Our current work environment is a hybrid approach, which means:

You should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required

You can expect to be co-located 80-100% with variations based on types of work/projects and client locations

Preferred:

Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above

Relevant work experience or work experience in a professional environment (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)

Demonstrated recent leadership, such as in a campus club, society, sports teams or other activity

Demonstrated recent social impact or volunteer activity

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
